EcoCash Unveils Revamped Mobile App with Enhanced Features and Security

Zimbabwe's leading mobile money platform, EcoCash, has launched an all-new mobile app boasting enhanced security and a vastly improved user interface with expanded functionality.

The revamped EcoCash app, unveiled today in the capital, introduces a host of convenient new features. Customers can now send funds to multiple recipients simultaneously, exchange currencies between US dollars and the newly launched Zimbabwe Gold (ZiG), download transaction histories, and more - in addition to the app's existing capabilities like airtime top-ups, utility bill payments, and merchant transactions.

"The new features in our mobile app directly address feedback from our customers. We are committed to continuous innovation that delivers the best possible experience," said Munyaradzi Nhamo, EcoCash's Managing Director.

A key upgrade to the EcoCash app is strengthened security through biometric identification. In response to growing fraud risks, the app now incorporates fingerprint or facial recognition to complement traditional password and PIN protections.

"This new biometric technology enhances security and streamlines the authentication process for our customers," Nhamo explained.

The ability to make bulk payments is another valuable addition, particularly benefiting businesses, organizations and individuals who need to execute multiple transactions efficiently.

The new EcoCash app is available for download across major app stores, including Google Play, Apple App Store and Huawei App Gallery. It will run concurrently with the previous version for the next three months before the older app is retired, allowing customers ample time to migrate.

Furthermore, EcoCash is doubling rewards points for customers who download and utilize the new app during the ongoing "Chakachaya paEcoCash" promotion, which runs until July 25th. Exciting prizes like smartphones and airtime will also be awarded to incentivize the upgrade.

"This app upgrade represents a significant step forward in our commitment to innovation and customer satisfaction," Nhamo concluded.
