WestProp Holdings: US$174 Million for High-End Zimbabwe Housing

WestProp Holdings Limited has announced its ambitious plan to invest US$174 million in various projects aimed at providing luxurious and high-quality housing within Zimbabwe's built environment.

These projects have already received approval from the investments committee, with a significant portion of the investment, nearly US$40 million, allocated for infrastructure construction at the Hills Luxury Golf Estate. Situated between Sherwood and Harare Drive, the Hills Luxury Golf Estate is set to become one of the standout features in Harare.

The US$174 million investment will also go towards the construction of Millennium Heights block five, a project scheduled to be announced later in 2024. Additionally, WestProp Holdings plans to allocate funds for the construction of its own 5,500 square metre head office in Borrowdale, as well as the development of flats in Pomona City. Ken Sharpe, the Chief Executive Officer of WestProp Holdings, emphasized the company's commitment to delivering the best for the city of Harare while ensuring that quality remains uncompromised.

Speaking about the investments, Sharpe stated, "We have set ourselves to build signature infrastructure in the quest for luxury and safety among our customers. We have US$174 million worth of projects in the pipeline, which were approved by our investments committee last week." He further revealed that WestProp Holdings is actively pursuing other projects, including the Mall of Zimbabwe, for which US$100 million has been allocated. The groundbreaking for the Mall of Zimbabwe is scheduled to take place later this year, and these developments are expected to significantly transform the infrastructure landscape in Harare.

Michael Louis, the Chairman of WestProp Holdings Limited, expressed optimism about Zimbabwe's economic prospects and emphasized the company's mission to build signature infrastructure that reflects the vision of "Bringing Dubai to Zimbabwe." He stated, "Growth prospects for Zimbabwe are very positive, and indications are that this economy will soon be the regional bedrock. We are elated about the project pipeline that we have got. I think today, it is more than just a development that we are doing. To me, it goes about what WestProp Holdings stands for, a people-cantered community where people are safe and secure," Louis added.

As part of their commitment to green energy, WestProp Holdings has commissioned a US$500,000 gate house at Millennium Heights, which is powered by renewable energy sources. This gate house is equipped with the latest 24/7 surveillance and access control AI technology, alarm systems, and home automation features for each of the apartments.

Last year, WestProp Holdings introduced the concept of penthouses at its Millennium Heights development. Traditionally, penthouses were found mainly in the Tongogara avenues area, but WestProp Holdings is now offering penthouses at all of its development sites, giving customers the opportunity to choose their preferred location and have input in the design process.

With a commitment to the "one billion bricks by 2050" strategy and a vision of creating smart cities, premium luxury housing, affordable housing, green communities, and lifestyle communities, WestProp Holdings aims to revolutionize Zimbabwe's real estate industry. Through projects such as Pokugara Residential Estate and Townhouses, Millennium Heights, Hills Golf Estate, Mall of Zimbabwe, and Pomona City, WestProp Holdings is determined to reshape the face of Zimbabwe's property segment.
